Baianidade Nagô

Salvador is the capital of Bahia, a Brazilian state. It was home to one of the largest gatherings of enslaved black people in colonial Brazil. No other, however, has such a strong African heritage in its culture and population. Here’s a glimpse of Afro-Bahian culture from my perspective. These photos were part of my final project for a photography course I took in 2022 at the Escuela Da Vinci in Buenos Aires.

A Caatinga Brasileira

A look at northeastern Brazil

This photo “Day by day” won the 3rd place in the Olhares Sobre a Caatinga photo contest organized by the Vitória da Conquista City Council during the Environment Week 2022.

INFO

The Caatinga occupies 11% of the national territory and is an exclusively Brazilian biome. It is culturally relevant – represented in several music and literature productions – economically and environmentally, besides presenting unique beauties. Such an important biome deserves to be seen up close.
